The Business Foundations Certificate offers fast-paced, application-oriented instruction in fundamental business knowledge. This concentrated 21 credit hour program is appropriate for anyone who seeks to add basic business knowledge to their portfolio whether returning to college to enhance skills, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a non-business major or starting college for the first time. The certificate is delivered in a convenient, fully online learning environment. Students have direct access to the classroom through Canvas for grading, instructor communication, coursework needs, and class forums.

At the same time, you'll have access to all that Kelley offers its students, including complete academic advising and technical support.

To qualify for the certificate, you must be an admitted or current student at IU Indianapolis.
You must also:
- Complete 21 credit hours (seven courses) within the program as described in curriculum requirements.
- Take courses in any order you like. There are no prerequisites.
- Take at least 15 of the required 21 credit hours through IU Indianapolis.
- Earn a minimum GPA of 2.0 in all certificate courses.
- Submit notification of completion at the beginning of your final semester of certificate coursework.

Our curriculum is concentrated and relevant for any student who wishes to gain a basic understanding of the core disciplines of business. As you plan your schedule, please keep in mind:
- Prerequisites are required for some courses.
- With the exception of BUS-K 201, BUS-X 204, and BUS-M 226, these courses may not be used toward a business minor or a business bachelor's degree.
